The Process

SurgiPak’s closed system begins first with the replacement of disposable surgical wear with reusables, followed by pick-up, cleaning, inspection, embedding digital code into each garment, pack preparation and delivery according to client specifications and requirements. SurgiPak will track and repair damaged garments and coverings, document waste, and manage reusable items. Our effective change management program supports health care teams to facilitate the shift away from disposables with certified healthcare professionals lead the charge. The end result, unprecedented value achieved through a dedicated understanding of just-in-time applications and processes with real-time delivery.

The Technology

As an industry heavily dependent upon technology, the SurgiPak process entails embedding each garment, covering and linen with a digital chip that allow us to track product usage, who packed it, when it was laundered and its life span.

Digital tagging is also applied to clearly indicate products are delivered in sterile condition.

Digitally tagged garments will change color upon introduction to onsite sterilization. This technology tracks the overall efficiency and quality of the process, improving overall safety.

Disposable products from healthcare facilities account for 70% of the 7000 tons of environmental waste produced in the US daily, making it the second largest contributor in the US. Operating room waste contributing 20 – 30% to that figure. Disposables are the culprit, reusables are the solution. Reusables provide superior protection for both patients and healthcare teams, significantly reduce waste and reduce natural energy up to 300% and water usage up to 330%.
